  • Total land area officially adopted by the Province of Southern Leyte - 173,480 hectares or 1,734.8 sq. km. (Source: NSO Census on Population 1990)

  • It represents 8.04% of the total land area of Eastern Visayas Region (21,562.90 and 0.58% of the total land area of the Philippines (300,000. hectares based on NAMRIA/NSO 1995 and NPFP, 1993 data.
