Safety of the tourists, visitors, investors, etc.

Mr. Nedgar V. Garvez, Tourism Officer, Province of Southern Leyte, Asuncion, Maasin City, Southern Leyte 06600.     Dear Mr. Garvez:   The tourists from Hong Kong who died few days ago during the hostage crisis near the Luneta Grandstand in Manila must be a wake up call to all the tourism officials, directors, managers and employees, both in the government and private sectors, in the entire Philippines.  Experts in tourism and travel have predicted that about 10 to 12% of the international tourists and visitors will cancel their plans to travel anywhere in the Philippines.   Therefore, we suggest that if or when there are foreign tourists or visitors in Southern Leyte, they must be escorted where they go or tour in Southern Leyte.  The Philippine National Police or \"barangay tanods\" in the barrios and towns where the tourists are going to visit must be informed in advance of their coming to make sure that they have extra protection from all sorts of bad elements in our society, including other emergencies caused by accidents, sickness, unfavorable weather, etc.   We cannot afford to lose even one unsatisfied tourist or visitor in Southerrn Leyte because of the failure of the local officials, staff members, police officers, etc. to serve and protect the tourists and visitors.  There is no need to contact Governor Mercado or Congressman Mercado on this subject.  It is the job in the first place of the tourism officials, employees, the police officers, \"barangay tanods\" in our beloved province.  No excuse whatsoever!  I have been making contacts and inviting the foreign business persons, investors, tourists, visitors, students, missionaries, retirees, etc. to come to Southern Leyte and the rest of the Philippines for over 20 years.  Some of the foreign retirees have decided to go to Palawan, Cebu and Pampanga.  That is of course their individual decision.  They are free to go anywhere in the Philippines.

i'm still testing the gallery component, it was only installed last week. as of now, i'm addressing an issue with some of the features of the gallery that has been constantly crashing the website data. thats why there are only limited pictures right now.

I am very much happy that we southern leyteños has our own website but sad to say that it is not friendly user however we suggest that the author need to expand and make this accessible to anybody, like if were going to find some recent and updated photos of our province and its municipalities. We also like to view more about Miss Southern Leyte but sad to say we cannot because even if we would like to open the gallery it is very much difficult to surf. Furthermore we are anticipating more easy and convenience surfing trough the net as if we are longing for as an onward So. Leyte.
